This Scheme was launched during 2015-16 with an aim to enhance physical access of water on farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, improve on-farm water use efficiency, introduce sustainable water conservation practices.

  1. SURFACE MINOR IRRIGATION

The Department is implementing:

a) 270 Nos. of Surface Minor Irrigation Schemes under PMKSY-HKKP during 2018-19 with an estimated cost of ₹.20685.21 Lakh to cover a CCA of 8544 Ha with an Irrigation Potential planned of 10508 Ha covering the entire State, against which Central share amounting to ₹.14244.525 Lakh and State matching share of ₹.1582.724 Lakh has been received till date, and an Irrigation Potential of 9291 Ha has been achieved till Jan’ 2024.

b) 213 Nos.of Surface Minor Irrigation Schemes under PMKSY-HKKPduring 2021-22 with an estimated cost of ₹.13320.94 Lakh covering a CCA of 5444 Ha to create Irrigation Potential of 6837.30 Ha covering the entire State, against which Central share amounting to ₹.4121.00 Lakh and State matching share of ₹.457.89 Lakh has been received till date, and an Irrigation Potential of 1624 Ha has been achieved till Jan’ 2024.

c) 2 Nos. of Integrated Minor Irrigation Project under PMKSY-HKKP during 2022-23 at Peren District with an estimated cost of ₹.1398.49 Lakh to cover a CCA of 350 Ha with an Irrigation Potential planned of 485 Ha against which Central share amounting to ₹.432.655 Lakh and State matching share of ₹.48.071 Lakh has been received till date, and an Irrigation Potential of 184 Ha has been achieved till Jan’ 2024.

GROUND WATER IRRIGATION IMPLEMENTED UNDER PMKSY-HKKP-GW

The Department of Water Resources, Nagaland took up 262 Units of Ground Water Irrigation Schemes under PMKSY-HKKP-GW during 2019-20 at an estimated cost of ₹.1805.879 Lakh to cover a CCA of 666.75 Ha against which Central share amounting to ₹.1625.28 Lakh and State matching share of ₹.180.58 Lakh has been utilized till date. This scheme is intended to address small and marginal farmers covering an area of 2 Ha to 4 Ha through Ground Water Irrigation. The scheme covers 5 (Five) districts namely Dimapur, Peren, Wokha, Mokokchung and Mon and the works are 100% completed.
